Dry Rot:  A fungus among us

Yeechhh! Spongy, decaying wood around windows, doors, steps, and siding, etc., is a sign your house has a fungus. And with the same irony that afflicts couch potatos with Athlete's Foot, wet areas around your house get dry rot. Dry rot can eventually be deadly, both for the wooden structure that invariably collapses, and for those people living in or around the spore-producing mold that is the culprit. What you may think of as hay fever may actually be your body's warning that it is under attack by your household environment. Don't let any kind of rot go untreated.
